World Card Making Day!

Happy Saturday and Happy World Card Making Day!  I was able to stamp up a couple of things today.  Some I need to wait a little bit into the month to show you, but I also wanted to make a card to share on the day that honors what we all love to do.

I was inspired by a few things.  First, I started off with the sketch from the My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club.  I turned the sketch on its side and went from there.  (Click HERE for all of the details to play along.)  The second thing that inspired me was the special episode about breast cancer on TLC's Say Yes to the Dress last night.  Not the happiest of subjects, but it did inspire me.  When one is told that they have cancer of any kind, it is a big pill to swallow.  It has been a part of my family in one form or another for too many years.  One of my friends from school is home recovering from cancer treatments.  She will hopefully be back to school soon, but I wanted to send her another card to let her know that she has been in my prayers and I hope that she finally wins this battle.

I used one of the sentiments from the MFT Vertical Greetings set.  The flower blossoms were made from felt and with the MFT Layered Rose Die-namics and the MFT Royal Leaves Die-namics.  I used some buttons for the centers.  Then I added the MFT Little Open Scallop Strip Die-namics with a few pearl accents.  The striped paper is from the Beautiful Life collection from Echo Park Papers.  Some machine stitching finishes off my card.

I hope that you were able to take a moment and get crafty today.  Thank you for visiting with me.  Have a beautiful weekend, and until next time...Toodles!  :D
